Course Leaked on Telegram: What Can Actually Be Removed?

A practical Telegram course-piracy removal guide covering public channels, private groups, external file hosts, complaint templates, search cleanup and verification.

If your course appears on Telegram, first separate the Telegram post from the place where the course files actually live.

A leak can be:

Public Telegram channel -> Telegram-hosted files

or:

Public Telegram channel -> Dropbox / Drive / file host

or:

Seller channel -> checkout -> external delivery

Each route needs different action.

Step 1: Confirm whether the Telegram surface is public

Telegram's current FAQ says copyright complaints can be submitted for content on its public platform, including public bots, channels, sticker sets, and groups. Telegram also says it does not process copyright requests related to private groups and chats.

That means the first question is simple:

Can the reported content be viewed as part of Telegram's public platform?

If yes, record the public link. If it is private, do not claim that Telegram's public copyright process covers it.

Step 2: Save the public evidence

Capture:

  • public t.me URL
  • channel, group, or bot name
  • specific post link where available
  • screenshots
  • course title
  • visible lesson names or materials
  • seller handle
  • price if access is being sold
  • any external file-host link
  • date and time

Do not enter private spaces under false pretenses. Use evidence you can lawfully access.

Step 3: Work out whether Telegram hosts the file

This changes the next action.

If the file is directly on Telegram

The Telegram complaint is the primary platform route.

Report the Telegram surface and the external file separately.

For example:

Telegram post -> Dropbox folder

means:

  • Telegram controls the post/channel surface.
  • Dropbox controls the Dropbox-hosted file.

Removing one does not remove the other.

Telegram's FAQ directs copyright complaints about public content to:

dmca@telegram.org

Telegram does not publish a detailed mandatory field list in the FAQ, so keep the complaint specific and complete.

Use this template:

Copyable text
Subject: Copyright Complaint - Public Telegram Content - [COURSE NAME]

To: dmca@telegram.org

I am [the copyright owner / authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner] for the course identified below.

Copyrighted work:
[Course name and short description]

Official course URL:
[URL]

Public Telegram content being reported:
[Public channel / group / bot URL]

Specific post URL(s), if available:
[URL 1]
[URL 2]

Description of the infringement:
[Explain what course content is being copied, distributed, or sold without authorization]

External file URL(s), if the Telegram post links elsewhere:
[URL]

I have a good-faith belief that this use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.

The information in this complaint is accurate. I am the copyright owner or am authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.

Email:
Telephone:

Do not invent a Telegram response deadline. Telegram does not publish a universal takedown SLA in its FAQ.

Step 5: Report the external file separately

If the Telegram post links to another service, use that provider's own process.

Examples:

For a free-form file-host notice, use the standard DMCA structure:

Copyable text
Subject: DMCA Notice of Claimed Infringement - [COURSE NAME]

I am [the copyright owner / authorized representative] for the course identified below.

Copyrighted work:
[Course name]

Official URL:
[URL]

Infringing file or folder:
[Exact file-host URL]

Related Telegram post:
[Public Telegram URL]

I request removal or disabling of access to the identified material.

I have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.

The information in this notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, I state that I am the copyright owner or am authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.

Electronic signature:

Step 6: If the channel is selling access, preserve the commercial path

Save:

  • seller handle
  • offer
  • price
  • checkout link
  • payment instructions
  • delivery link
  • external store, if any

If the seller uses a marketplace or payment service, that can create another enforcement route. Use the storefront's IP process first when one exists.

For Stripe, use: https://stripe.com/legal/ip-policy

For Paypal, use: https://www.paypal.com/ca/cshelp/article/what-is-paypals-infringement-report-process-help271 https://www.paypal.com/ca/legalhub/paypal/acceptableuse-full

Step 7: Clean up search visibility

If the public Telegram page, reseller page, or external file page appears in Google or Bing, submit separate search-removal requests.

Google: https://support.google.com/legal-help-center/answer/13887279

Bing: https://www.bing.com/webmaster/contentremovalform/showcontentremovalform

Search removal can reduce discoverability. It does not remove Telegram content or the external file.

Step 8: Verify the case in layers

Check each object independently.

LayerCheck
Public Telegram postStill visible?
Channel or botStill accessible?
External fileStill accessible?
Seller pageStill selling?
GoogleResult visible?
BingResult visible?
Replacement channelNew copy found?

A case can end like this:

  • Telegram post: removed
  • file host: still active
  • Google: delisted
  • replacement channel: reappeared

That is not a contradiction. It is a multi-layer case.

Step 9: What to do with private groups

Telegram says it does not process copyright requests related to private groups and chats. That does not mean every connected route is untouchable.

If you can lawfully identify:

  • an external file host
  • a public seller page
  • a public promotion channel
  • a storefront
  • a payment service
  • a search result

you can act on those separate control points.

Step 10: Watch for replacement channels

Course piracy on Telegram can reappear under:

  • a new channel
  • a new bot
  • a new file host
  • a new seller account

Track the protected course, not only the original channel URL. That is the difference between one complaint and ongoing enforcement.
